One crushed to death during Bisket Jatra
BHAKTAPUR, APR 09 - A person died and two others injured after they were crushed by the wheel of a huge chariot during the annual Bisket Jatra festival in Bhaktapur on Monday. The identity of the deceased has not been established. The ill-fated celebrant, who was critically injured after he was crushed, was initially rushed to Bhaktapur Hospital for treatment from where he was referred to Maharajgunj Hospital. But he breathed his last on the way to Maharajgunj. One Prajwal Maka, 19, of Chashukhel Bhaktapur, and Prem Silpakar, 27, have been injured in the incident. Maka has been receiving medial attention at Bhaktapur hospital and Silpakar has been undergoing treatment at Kathmandu Medical hospital. Two huge wooden chariots are hauled by dozens of Bhaktapur residents through the city as part of the festival that is celebrated on the eve of Nepali New year. Source:ekantipur.com
