Police vow to identify journo-killers in 3 days
KAKADVITTA, APR 05 -Nepal Police has claimed that it would make public the truth behind the murder of Jhapa-based journalist Yadav Poudel within three days.
Organising a press conference at Zonal Police Office Mechi on Thursday, Superintendent of Police (SP) Tarini Lamsal said that 70% of the investigation has already finished.
SP Lamsal further claimed that police teams have been deployed at different station in Nepal as well as in India to search for more culprits. “The teams are inching closer to the culprits,” said SP Lamsal.
Out of the 16 people who were caught in association with the crime, police claimed that six are directly involved in it.
Poudel was murdered by an unidentified gang at Birtamod of Jhapa district on Thursday. He was a correspondent for Avenues Television. According to police, Poudel was found dead, most probably stabbed to death, outside a hotel at Birtamod Bus Park.
