Six killed in jeep-bus collision

RUPANDEHI, APR 07 -Six people have been killed and dozen injured when a jeep collided head-on a bus at Murgiya of Rupandehi district on Saturday morning.

The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 148) heading for Butwal from Haraiya collided head-on a bus (Ko 1 Kha 3115) heading for western district at around 5.30 at Paruha VDC along the Mahendra Highway this morning.

Three died on the spot, two breathed their last while heading for treatment and one while receiving medical treatment, sources confirmed.

The deceased have been identified as Dipesh Poudel, 22, of Fedikhola, Syangja and Deepak Pariyar, 40, of Gajedi, Rupandehi, Jagishwor Chapagain of Dudhrakchya, Rupandehi and Tikaram Chapagain, 64, of same place. Meanwhile, the identification of a woman and other one is yet to be ascertained.

Among the injured, two have sustained critical injuries. They have been undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital.
